“Travel isn’t something we do, it’s who we are.”

Team TravelRebel

Just like traveling solo is a great experience, sharing experiences is even better. That’s why TravelRebel is the work and joy of a team of almost 10 people. Above all, we are always looking for the best experiences in sustainable tourism, regenerative tourism, responsible tourism, social traveling and female traveling. Each of us has their own side to the story we tell. Some of us excel with the magic of copywriting, photograpy, movie editing or social trends. But we all have the same goal: to travel happily ever after on a sustainable planet. Read along and follow our journey.

Charlotte

Charlotte is the founder of Travelrebel. So what has her life been like so far? She can give you a quick glimpse herself. Charlotte: “I’ve studied abroad, worked in the corporate world, loved with all my heart, started a company (or two!) and had many, many unforgettable adventures in foreign lands. I’ve been a wanderer and risk-taker for as long as I can remember – and somehow, I’ve managed to retain that outlook on life even as I’ve transitioned to adulthood.”

“To say that my first overseas trip impacted me deeply would be an understatement. Simply put, it changed me. Since then, the uniqueness and authenticity of each place has fundamentally altered me (for the better, I hope!) and I long for more of that kind of learning and growth every single day. Each morning, I stare at my marked world map, obsessively flick through potential  itineraries, read travel stories, look up plane tickets … all in the quest of more such experiences.”

What is our aim with TravelRebel?

Above all else, we hope this platform can inspire you to look at the world a little differently, to treat it a little more respectfully. Discovery and growth go hand in hand, and we hope our words and experiences can help you leave cleaner footprints wherever you go.

So… welcome, fellow travel rebel! Let’s embrace indigenous tourism and broaden our horizons as we mindfully explore new places (and, in that process, ourselves).

Here’s to finding beauty in the broken. To listening to that muffled inner voice. To being brave. And to always, always going after those dreams.

After all, we get one shot at this crazy adventure called life. Let’s make it a good one.

Meet Amelie, the newest member of the Rebel Family

A German videographer, yoga facilitator, teacher and traveller, currently living in Ericeira, Portugal. She left Germany in 2023 with no fixed Plan, only a vision: to find a place she could truly call home beyond the boarders of her native country. For Years, she felt constrained by a lifestyle that didn’t align with her values, dreams and desire for freedom. The “Travel Rebel” within her kept calling for something different, more meaningful. So she packed her Backpack, began walking through Spain, and stepped into the unknown, trusting that the road would reveal itself along the way.

Since then and before, Amelie has embraced a simple and intentional way of traveling. Guided by her philosophy of “be a traveller, not a tourist”, she chooses meaningful connections over luxury resorts, local experiences over checklists, and immersions over consumption. Rather than rushing through destinations, she prefers spending enough time in one place to understand the culture, connect with people, and develop a genuine relationship with the land. Throughout her travel journeys, she has been passionate to have a positive impact in the world by leaving places better than she found them: whether working for animal rescue and social projects to support deaf children in Australia, participating in plastic reduction initiatives and beach clean ups in Bali, Indonesia, working on organic farms in Portugal, or creating accessible healthcare yoga spaces for local communities in Mozambique, Africa, she strives to contribute positively wherever life brings her.

Growing up with both parents being passionate Biologists and a deep appreciation for nature, environmental awareness has always been woven into her work. Her connection to conservation also comes from her family, which has leased several lakes in germany to help maintain and protect important bird sanctuaries. Since a young age, this early exposure to habitat preservation shaped her understanding of the delicate relationship between people and nature. As a former elementary school teacher in Germany, she integrated these values into her classroom. Today, she shares them through her travel and lifestyle video blogs on Youtube, educational content, and holistic approach to yoga and conscious living.

Amelie is also a member of the Executive Committee of MiO Marburg, an organization dedicated to ornithology and ecology.

Through her Videos, teachings, and adventures, she hopes to inspire others to travel more consciously, live more intentionally, and trust the courage it takes to follow their own path, even when the destination is still unknown.
